A radiograph (X-ray) is a type of image that looks inside the body and reveals information that may not be discernible from the outside. Radiography can be used to evaluate your pet’s internal organs like the heart, lungs, and abdominal organs, as well as bones. When it comes to diagnosing your pet accurately, radiology can be an extremely valuable tool in our diagnostic arsenal.

Digital radiographs are routinely used to diagnose and examine broken bones, obstructions, arthritis, masses, as well as dental health. We also use digital radiographs to confirm pregnancies or detect ingested objects.

We’re excited to be one of the only clinics in our area providing the cutting-edge diagnostic tool: the VISTA iQ. With the help of Heat Diffusion Imaging (HDI), the VISTA iQ is able to aid us in assessing possible cancer risks in the various lumps and bumps that appear on dogs as they age.

This tool is especially helpful when there are multiple masses present - we can scan 1 or more to assess their risk before choosing to sample/remove them - with the goal being to make informed decisions while saving pet owners time and money whenever possible.
